'Le Gite' at Le Vignaud was the first stage of our renovation project when we came to live in France in September 2007. Our first season was 2010 and we have had many lovely comments from our guests.

Le Gite is part of the 17th Century farmhouse on the outskirts of Brillac and close to the medieval town of Confolens on the Vienne River in the Charente department of France.

There is a swimming pool for the sole use of the Gite guests (15ft/4.57m diameter, 4ft/1,22m  deep)

There is also a children's climbing frame with swing and slide in the lawned garden.

There are french doors from the first floor lounge onto a balcony with steps down to the garden and the pool area.

There is a separate entrance to the Gite with plenty of space for parking.

On the ground floor is the kitchen/diner which is fully equiped with washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, electric hob, full oven, fridge freezer and microwave. The tiled floor is cool in the summer and has underfloor heating for the winter months. There is also a cloakroom with toilet and washbasin on this floor.

The large, bright and airy lounge is on the first floor, with french and english satelite television and a DVD player. There is plenty of room should you wish to have use of a sofa bed to accommodate additional people. The french doors open onto a large balcony which is an ideal location for a glass of wine in the evenings. There is a woodburner for cosy winter evenings and also the convenience of central heating to radiators.

On the top floor there are 2 bedrooms.

The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and can also accommodate a cot or child bed if needed. There is an ensuite bathroom which consists of a roll top slipper end bath tub, toilet, washbasin and also a large shower cubicle.

The second bedroom has 2 single beds and also has an ensuite shower room with toilet, washbasin and large shower cubicle.
